BELIEFS
Our beliefs are simple. Being a follower of God falls under a few beliefs / needs.

First and foremost you need to fall in love with God (all of Him: Father, Son, and His Holy Spirit), and you need to love Him with everything you have. Without a deep love for someone, why would you ever adhere to their needs and wants? When you truly give God your heart it becomes easier and easier to give up on things that don't align with His teachings and commands, because He is your priority. In other words, your begin to look at life through a new lens - a lens of "what would God want me to do?"

Matthew 22:37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."

Secondly, you need to love others in the same way you love yourself. This can mean a variety of things. However, I think if we focus on humbling ourselves to believe we have no higher value than others, and want all the same blessings and overall good for them as we'd want, we'll be right on track.

Matthew 22:39 "And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Lastly, you need to keep God's commandments and instructions - no being picky and no substitution. How on earth can we keep all these commandments even when some seem "out of date," "anti-cultural," "preventing us from relationships and loving who we want," etc.? Well, Matthew 22:40 states that God's laws fully depend on the first 2 beliefs above (Matthew 22:37 & Matthew 22:39).
Matthew 22:40 "On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

If you fully give God your heart and love others, everything else will fall in place. With this love comes sacrifice, intentionality, and fulfillment. This love gives your heart and mind the ability to let go of the things that interfere with your relationship to God, and gives you the strength you need to make the choices that align with His desires and instruction.

Deuteronomy 11:1 “You shall therefore love the Lord your God and keep his charge, his statutes, his rules, and his commandments always."

John 14:15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."

James 2:10 "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it."
Mark 7:9 "And He said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!"
